Time Together

Families spend a great deal of time together and it is up to parents to determine just how that time is spent. Since it is so important for children to develop healthy habits parents should utilise the time that they spend with their kids encouraging exercise and active play.

Join us Sunday, June 14th, 11:00am for a day of worship in both word and fun, as part of the New Jerusalem Church@Frankie's. This event is open, and FREE, to all who are interested. Free Pizza and Games...bring your kids.

A VISIT TO SOUTHBRIDGE FELLOWSHIP

My wife, the launch team and I attended The Southbridge Fellowship in Raleigh this past Sunday.

Our visit was a great experience. I think that first impressions are very important when it comes to guests. Yes, some churches take “guest treatment” way too far. But I think the people at Southbridge did a great job of making us feel welcome without overwhelming us.

Speaking of first impressions…

Scott Lehr is the lead pastor at the Southbridge Fellowship. His message was titled “Recession” from Matthew 7:24-27. It was a good message-his major point was to build your life on the Rock of Jesus Christ.

Mothers Who Follow Jesus

When I first sat down to think about writing this lesson I really wanted to tell some heart-string-tugging and dazzling ministry stories. This is what I've been taught to do in order to keep the support base excited. I agree this is important and there are some stories to tell, but I wanted this lesson to focus more on moms and rather than the ordinary side of church planting, however we will focus on the mother who helped Jesus plant his first church.

As a bible student, one of my heroes in the faith was and still is Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary was one of Jesus first members of his church plant. God build Mary to endure some heavy pressure. Mary had to bury her son, undergo the lies and rumors of the people in her community.

During this Mother Day Celebration, If you would, lets peak into Mary life for a moment. I believe you will be enlightened. As we look into her life, we will first noticed her motherly servitude, it begins in Luke 1:30 an angel name Gabriel told her fear not for thou hast found favour with God.
Verse 31… thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

And verse 38 Mary responded, "I am the Lord's servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants. May everything you have said come true." And then the angel left. We also notice hear that she had a motherly servant attitude; Her willingness to do, to let her body be a vessel of God’s glory. Further in that text, we can appreciate her motherly candied and her fearlessness to go to her fiancĂ© and tell him ”honey, I am pregnant but it’s not yours, its God’s son. Perhaps, I could hear Joseph now saying, “say, what?!”

Later we see her strength, how she traveled on a wild beast for many miles during census season to Bethlehem. Listen, that is not all, but after getting there having no where to sleep. Now, I would hate to be in Joseph shoes---having to deal with a woman who is pregnant and then have to tell her there is no room in the inn. That is not it and then telling her the next alternative is to sleep in a barn, a manger, or a stall. We never read in the text that she complained.

In the book of John, chapter 2 we noticed several motherly qualities, we learn from Mary, the mother of Jesus: She was willing to be involved in social gatherings.

I. Mothers you have to be willing to minister to the community
She was connected with someone outside her median family.
She was doing some spiritual outreach.
She became a channel, a vessel for someone to receive a miracle.

II. Mothers recognize a need and fill it
· She did not complain about the outcome of the wedding.
· She became a solution and not a problem
· She was a willing vessel
· She recognized a need and filled it.

Three types of people who comes to a wedding:
Bystander
Participator
Complainer
Which one are you…?

III. Mothers live for Jesus

· She went to Jesus when there was trouble
· She obey Jesus
· She was part of a Great miracle (Water was turn into wine)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY...GOD BLESS YOU!

I AM SATISFIED

True satisfaction comes from God alone.
Satisfaction begins with God
Jesus came to fulfilled life for us,
Since Jesus came into our life;
We haven't been the same since that day.

Jesus died for us.
Jesus atone our sins.
Jesus gave us a new life.

C. Williams a song writer says,
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.

True Satisfaction embraces the Joy of the Lord
God satisfy us with His JOY...You have to embrace Joy. James 1:1-13
Take on an attitude of joy.
Let God fill you so you will have an appetite for God

True Satisfaction affirms that God is in control
The fruit of Patience is the result of a good character in Christ.

True Satisfaction seeks wisdom from God.

When we choose God's way, he grants us wisdom. ... a long and satisfying life, closely follow God's instructions.
When We See as God Sees...we do not see trouble...we see God's might hand working.

What God sees?
When God looks at people, He sees Souls.
When God looks at work(job) He sees ministry.
When God looks at life, He sees the gospel being fulfilled and shared.
When God looks at family, He sees fellowship with His creation.

We are satisfied...
When we know its God's vision
When we know it is God's way
When we know it is God's life for us

Advance 09 Conference Registration Now Open

Here is the vision for the conference:

Christ promises to build the Church, and that no force will prevail against it. Yet, the local church has been heavily battered in battle. Sadly, churches in America are in steady decline, with over 4000 closing their doors and 500,000 members leaving each year--never to return. This is not what the Lord desires. The Apostle Paul tells us that " . . . through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places". The local church is called to lift-up Jesus so that all the world might see Him. The local church is called to make known the Gospel and to be the vehicle of redemption for the world. Led by local churches, Advance09 is a conference committed to the resurgence of the local church for the glory of God. Our aim is to equip attendees with the Gospel so that the local church might become all that Jesus calls it to be. At this conference, we hope to ensure that on our watch and in our time we honor Jesus and see the resurgence of the local church. Advance09 is open to anyone: pastors and lay-leaders; church members and regular-attenders. We invite you to join us in this Great Cause.

Here is some info about an upcoming conference that just went live this week. Be sure to visit the web page at www.advance09.com.
